Happiness Candle


A celebration of joy and unity, this candle features illustrations of double happiness symbols + a hand fan painted with magnolias. Topped with a beautiful wooden lid and made from creamy coconut soy wax. 

Scent Notes

  • White Jasmine - clusters of starry, pure white flowers thought to originate from ancient Persia. At dusk, the flowers release a perfume of rich, sweet floral aromas that were believed to have an aphrodisiac effect. With its intoxicating musky scent, jasmine flowers symbolize love in many countries around the world. In Indonesia and India, jasmine is often used for wedding decorations. 
  • Magnolia - a bowl-shaped flower, usually in a white, pink, or purple color. The magnolia has a creamy, slightly fruity fragrance mixed in with its floral aroma. In China, the magnolia was often painted to represent femininity and beauty.

Fun Facts

  • 囍 (pronounced shuāngxǐ) is composed of the two characters , 喜 (pronounced ). Because it looks like the two characters are embracing each other, this symbol portrays love and marriage in Chinese culture. 
  • The Double Happiness symbol is proudly displayed, usually in red, on decorations for traditional Chinese weddings. This auspicious symbol is thought to bring a blissful marriage to newlywed couples.
  • The folding fan, or sensu/ogi, was first invented in Japan and used as a symbol of social status, communication tool, and even as a weapon. It is traditionally made from bamboo and washi paper. 
  • These candle labels were illustrated by an AAPI artist in honour of Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage, which is celebrated in the month of May.
